“My son has been seeing Carol for speech therapy over the last 6+ years. Carol is amazing!  His articulation and intelligibility have steadily improved. Rather than utilizing rote drills, Carol utilizes whatever her clients are interested in to promote increased speech production in a natural manner. We have gone from Thomas the Train toys to a personal planner/calendar and many things in between to engage my son's interest. Carol also inherently "gets" kids diagnosed with autism in terms of their behaviors and the meaning behind their behaviors, and she is a valuable member of my son's treatment team. My son is always excited to go see Carol, and our family is grateful for all the progress she has helped him to achieve!”

“I have the privilege of knowing both Carol Walck and LeeAnne Fura for well over a decade. I met Carol through her advocacy work when I was Co-President of the Lehigh Valley Chapter of Autism Society of America in 2003. Carol gives back to the community and has worked tirelessly by giving of her time on dozens of projects and involvement that made the Lehigh Valley a better place to live and play for the disability community, and in turn the community as a whole!

My son, Ean, is autistic. He also has complex medical needs, occupational therapy needs, and an intensive behavioral intervention plan. He was lucky to meet LeeAnne when he was 3 (now 16) in Early Intervention. I mentioned my son’s diagnosis because Ean is not an “easy” case by any stretch of the imagination. There are a lot of people who have failed or given up on him, but not LeeAnne. She has always had an open door, a smile on her face, and innovative approaches.  She has always worked in conjunction with me, as well as Ean’s treatment team to provide the best possible service. Ean loves going to speech and smiles when he sees it on his schedule (which for Ean, says it ALL)!

Any potential client should have the upmost confidence in the practice, Carol Walck & Associates, that their loved one would be receiving the best treatment possible.  I am speaking for myself and the hundreds of pleased families (of both Carol and LeeAnne) that I have advocated for over the years.

"As a parent of a special needs child, I have had the privilege of knowing LeeAnne as my daughter’s speech and language therapist for well over 10 years.   Her professional, educational and personal experience have equipped her for her specialty in ways that have benefitted us tremendously throughthe many changing and challenging developmental needs of our onceyoung, little girl who is now a maturing young adult who faces multi-faceted challenges.  LeeAnne has been both an advocate and tremendous resource for my daughter both inside and outside of the academic setting, having a keen understanding of the multi-dimensional needs of many children who face more than speech and language processing challenges.   LeeAnne possesses that effective, yet delicate, balance of both patience and push that only comes through a personalized approach in her profession.  She has been an indispensable resource and asset who goes above and beyond the basics to come alongside her clients and their parents to help her clients reach their highest potentials in life.  I could not regard or recommend her more highly."  LeeAnne has been both an advocate and tremendous resource for my daughter both inside and outside of the academic setting, having a keen understanding of the multi-dimensional needs of many children who face more than speech and language processing challenges.   LeeAnne possesses that effective, yet delicate, balance of both patience and push that only comes through a personalized approach in her profession.  She has been an indispensable resource and asset who goes above and beyond the basics to come alongside her clients and their parents to help her clients reach their highest potentials in life.  I could not regard or recommend her more highly.”

“I can't say enough wonderful things about this practice!   My son had Miss Theresa and she was so warm, caring and encouraging to our son; and we were so pleased with the progress our son made.  I would very highly recommend Carol Walck and Associates! We were so glad to have found this practice.  The speech therapists are so warm, caring, and encouraging.   We were extremely fortunate to have been recommended to this practice from a friend.”

“We've been working with Carol Walck and Associates since before they were Carol Walck and Associates.  My son was 3 when he was placed in early intervention for treatment of a problem not accurately assessed…With a lot of hard work, and not getting any help, I decided to bring him home for schooling and to hopefully get him the help he needed…My friend suggested the company that Carol, Teresa, and LeeAnne were working for at the time.  When they left to start their own practice, we followed.  LeeAnne was the therapist my son saw regularly, although within that environment, everyone gets to know everyone there.  They love and really care for every child and their families.  They seem personally invested to help the child/children to be the best they can be.  LeeAnne worked with my son from 4th grade until he graduated from high school, which he not only graduated with honors, but succeeded to the point where just prior to his senior year he tested outside the autistic spectrum.  While he still has some of the tendencies, he is currently working a steady job and even took some online college courses.  I was told that it is a rare thing to test outside the spectrum once in it, and it was recommended to have him placed in a study.  Sadly this did not occur due to a technicality, but the fact that this happened is amazing.  A true testament of LeeAnne's assessment of him and providing the correct therapy."  During his last year in school, my other son was in need of services, and I couldn't imagine him seeing anyone else.  LeeAnne brought my one son out of his shell to be a successful adult, I knew she could help my other son with his deficits as well.  Sadly, the school I was with changed policies and we lost her for a time.  Because I felt so strongly about LeeAnne's abilities, I fought to get her back continually…After a few years and a number other therapists…he was finally given permission to return.  Once again, she discovered something that all the other therapists had missed and he is finally progressing, and it hasn't even been quite a year since his return.  It was so worth fighting to get back to LeeAnne... to the type of therapy I have never seen before, and there were quite a few therapists.  Carol Walck and Associates provides a type of therapy that puts humanness to the therapy.  It isn't just a business to them.  With all the different therapists my children had over the last 19 years, and being with Carol Walck and Associates for approximately 12 of those years, I couldn't give a high enough recommendation for them.  There are no words to describe the hearts these ladies have, and matching that with the knowledge and experience to provide therapy that really makes a difference.”

“LeeAnne has helped my son so much! She has worked with Luke for over 5 years. She helps him with social skills in addition to speech and reading skills and always finds a creative approach to keep him engaged and challenged. Thank You so much, LeeAnne!”

“After 1 year of speech therapy in a hospital environment, my child was not making the progress I was expecting.  That's how I decided to look for a more comprehensive and intensive type of speech therapy.  I did my research and came across Carol Walck and Associates.

When Carol started working with my son, he was 30% to 50% delayed in both expressive and receptive language. After thorough testing, Carol was able to address the most critical issues that my son was facing, not only from a functional language standpoint, but also from an academic standpoint.  Besides 1-hour speech therapy sessions (instead of 30 minutes in hospital settings), Carol offers a deep understanding of language based disabilities and has the tools, experience and expertise to effectively address them. The sessions are a mix of play therapy, floor time, ABA and conversational speech, which make the sessions fun and effective for the children.

After 3 years, my son has caught up his language deficiencies in most areas.  His sessions are so effective that when my second son was diagnosed with a language-based disability, I looked no further and brought him to Carol Walck!  Carol is more than my kids'  speech therapist: she is part of our support system: she is an advocate for our children, and she has earned their trust and respect so well that they are able to communicate to her what they are not able to voice elsewhere."

“I could probably write a letter regarding how grateful I am for the support Carol Walck and Associates provided Chad for the last 14 years, but I will try to be brief.   Chad was first evaluated by Carol at the recommendation of Dr. Toff when he was 18 months old.  After going through early intervention and the IU unit, Chad was now going to kindergarten…however, his school felt that he did not qualify for services.  I then decided to contact Carol and receive her professional opinion.  After Chad was tested by Carol, we began speech sessions with LeeAnne.  (I did receive a call from the school district a year later stating that Chad was speech delayed.) LeeAnne not only worked with Chad’s speech difficulties, she helped him develop confidence within himself that he could tackle any task.  Chad had the tendency to shy away from anything involving him to speak.  Today, Chad’s goal is to be a sports commentator.  He has already broadcasted the sports from his middle school and was very successful.  They even asked him to give a speech to about 200 parishioners regarding his school.  I cannot say enough positive things about LeeAnne and Carol Walck and Associates.  I will forever be grateful for the positive experience they gave to my son.”

Carol and her team are great -- knowledgeable and effective, while also patient, personable, and genuinely caring.  Parents of young children especially can be assured that they relate wonderfully to the children while also respecting and valuing the parents’ input, concerns and participation.  We have worked both with Carol, and with one of her team members, for 2 different of our children –one a former client and one current.  Our first experience was great, including obvious results.  We came back for concerns with another of our children, and have been equally satisfied.  We’re very thankful for what they do!

As a family we began working with Carol four years ago when our oldest son Nathan was three.  Her caring attitude and genuine love of children were evident from the start.   She has been an incredible source of support and guidance, not only for our children, but also for us as parents.  Her knowledge, wisdom, and expertise have helped both our children expand their skills and develop new compensatory strategies.   Carol has been able to address the needs of the whole child and has given us many practical solutions that can easily be incorporated into our daily lives.   We feel very lucky to have a resource like Carol Walck and Associates here in the Lehigh Valley.”

“My son, Jack, just completed therapy at Carol Walck and Associates.  Words cannot express the significant impact Theresa had on his speech and language skills.  He looked forward to his weekly sessions that lasted over a year.  The sessions are productive, relaxed, and fun.  Each session is extremely geared toward the individual child’s needs and interests.  Jack’s skills and confidence grew in a very nurturing environment.  He needed the extra help to improve his expressive language and when he was discharged, he was extremely prepared to start kindergarten. Carol gave Jack his initial evaluation, which was extremely thorough in nature.  The therapists who work at Carol Walck and Associates are experts in their field, professional, honest, kind, and extremely caring.  They go above and beyond for the kids.  It was the best decision to take Jack to Carol Walck and Associates!”

“My son has been with Carol since he was two years old; he is now 16, and she is more like a member of our family than just Matthew’s speech therapist. She is an invaluable member of his team and she has helped him not only with speech, but also with his academics, his social skills and behavioral skills. She has seen him at his worst and at his best, and I know Matthew’s progress would not be where it is today without her.”

“My boys have been coming to Carol Walck and Associates since July of 2013.  We have had nothing but a pleasant experience.  The staff is caring, knowledgeable, and friendly and truly cares about their clients.  My boys have grown tremendously with their speech and language.  My autistic son gets so much out of his sessions with Carol. She incorporates so much into his sessions, he has made great progress in the past 2 years and we couldn’t have done it without Carol.  Carol Walck and Associates have played a big part in my boys’ speech and language development; we are extremely grateful.”

“Carol’s services have been a godsend for our son Anthony---and for our family in general.  Over four years ago, when Anthony was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, we knew that verbal communication was his greatest challenge.  Carol’s methods and calm demeanor with our son has helped him achieve tremendous progress over the four years we’ve worked together.  He barely said any words when we began, and frankly, almost nothing intelligible.  Today, he carries on conversations with peers!  He still has work to do, and we continue to encourage him and advance his skills with the great help of Carol Walck.  Thanks, Carol!”

“My son has been receiving speech therapy from Theresa for the past 3 months. I am ecstatic about his progress. He received speech therapy through the school for the last 2 years with little improvement. Since being with Theresa, he has not only gained confidence but continues to see results each and every week."  Thank You Theresa!

Carol Walck has been more than fulfilling my family's speech and language development needs for over ten years. Prior to engaging Carol, I felt helpless with a child on the autism spectrum that had significant challenges communicating and a second child with speech challenges. Carol fully leveraged her state of the art techniques to mitigate these challenges. My typical son is now excelling in writing and presentations in his intermediate school and my child with autism has been mainstreamed in the public school system, something we were initially told would more than likely not happen. Not only are Carol's services top notch, she has also been a tremendous resource and friend that I have been able to lean on in difficult and challenging times. I truly recommend Carol for all of your speech and language development needs.

Caring, supportive, professional, adaptive: all terms to describe the wonderful experience we are having at Carol Walck & Associates.  It is a friendly atmosphere where professional attention is given to every client.  Someone recommended the group to us and we can recommend them to you without hesitation.

Carol is truly a pioneer in her field. Her enthusiasm and passion for what she does transforms her clients in giving their all. Her unconventional approach to therapy is tailored to each individual. She truly understands our kids and we are forevermore grateful!
