M.Theresa Wylie MS.,CCC/SLP received her bachelor of science degree in communication disorders from Marywood University and earned her master of science degree in speech-language pathology from Ithaca College. Theresa has her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and holds a Pennsylvania State License in Speech-Language Pathology. She is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA); Pennsylvania Speech-Language-Hearing Association (PSHA); and Northeastern Speech-Language-Hearing Association of Pennsylvania (NESHAP). Theresa has an extensive background in speech-language-pathology working in a variety of settings including an acute care hospital; rehabilitation hospital; children’s rehabilitation center; public schools; pre-school; early intervention and current private practice setting. Throughout her career Theresa has worked on addressing the communication and feeding needs of both children and adults. She supervised the therapeutic feeding program and provided in-service training to education and therapy departments regarding feeding and use of adaptive toys in a children’s rehabilitation center. Theresa has been invited to present on several occasions to pre-school education staff regarding typical speech and language development. She enjoys sharing productive strategies for education staff as well as parents to implement and stimulate a child’s speech and language development. In recent years Theresa has focused primarily in the following areas: receptive and expressive language; pragmatic language; fluency; articulation; phonological awareness; voice; reading comprehension; and executive functioning. Theresa has a special interest in fluency and receptive-expressive language.
