LeeAnne Fura is a graduate of Muhlenberg College with a BA in English literature and Columbia University with an MS in speech-language pathology. She has worked with all age groups in various settings including a VA hospital, rehabilitation hospital, home-health agency, early intervention, and private practice. She has practiced in New York, Tennessee, and Pennsylvania. LeeAnne specializes in language and phonology-based reading disorders, auditory processing disorders, receptive and expressive language disorders, written language disorders, social language disorders, and executive function skills.
LeeAnne sits on the Board of Directors for the Lehigh Valley Center for Independent Living. She also served as co-chair for the S2L fundraiser for 2 years. S2L is a Lehigh Valley-based group of young adults with disabilities who are working on transitioning from school-to-life. In addition, LeeAnne has presented as a parent/professional for the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation counselors in Harrisburg, at the Penn State Transition Conference, and the national APSE (Association for People Supporting Employment First) conference. She has also presented to hospital staff about feeding/swallowing treatment. LeeAnne has been a member of several high school and college career panels.
LeeAnne is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), the Pennsylvania Speech-Language-Hearing Association (PSHA), and the Northeastern Speech-Language-Hearing Association of Pennsylvania (NESHAP). LeeAnne is certified to practice in Pennsylvania, and she has her ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC). She is a current recipient of ASHA’s ACE award, a formal recognition of professionals who have demonstrated their commitment to lifelong learning.
