Carol Walck is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in speech and hearing therapy and Bloomsburg University with a master’s degree in communication disorders. She also took graduate classes at Temple University and has earned 7 American Speech-Hearing-Language Association ACE awards which recognize professionals who have demonstrated their commitment to lifelong learning. Carol has her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, Pennsylvania State Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist, and has memberships in the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, the Pennsylvania Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and the Northeastern Speech-Language-Hearing Association of Pennsylvania. She has worked in Ohio, Texas and Pennsylvania in public schools (K-12), early intervention, in a school for children with social-emotional issues, as a preschool teacher for a language-based classroom for children with special needs, as a resource teacher for elementary-aged children with special needs, and in private practice. She specializes in working with children, young adults, and adults with a variety of language-based diagnoses including autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, social language disorders, developmental language disorders, auditory processing disorders, executive dysfunction, and with clients who are non-verbal or who have limited verbal skills.
Carol has certifications in the Hanen® Parent Program and Hanen® More Than Words Program. She has led Hanen® Parent Programs along with presenting forS2L (School 2 Life) Transitions Conferences through the Lehigh Valley Center for Independent Living, co-presented on Social Skills for the American Occupational Therapy Association National Conference, presented at a conference on social skills for the Collage Program, co-taught Staff Trainings for ARCH of the Lehigh Valley and Ellwyn, co-presented an Integrated Therapy Approach for Community Services for Children, and presented at a Pennsylvania Early Intervention Conference, the Lehigh Valley Autism Society of America, the Lehigh Valley Learning Disability Association, and the Lehigh Valley Asperger’s Association (SEAS). She has also given various parent presentations and workshops on speech-language development, language-based reading disabilities, and play skills and has been a guest speaker for classes at Lehigh County Community College and Northampton Community College.
